1. Agreeing to these terms

These terms are an agreement between you and JambCBT (“we”, “us”) for using the JambCBT app at jambcbt.app. By creating an account or using JambCBT, you agree to them and to our Privacy Policy. If you’re under 18, please read them with your parent or guardian: you need their permission to use JambCBT and to pay for anything.

2. What JambCBT is

JambCBT is a practice tool for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). It offers past questions with worked solutions, timed CBT mock exams, challenges and leaderboards.

• JambCBT is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB). JAMB’s name is used only to describe the exam JambCBT helps you prepare for.
• We work hard to make questions, answers and solutions accurate, but mistakes can happen. If you spot one, please tell us.
• Scores, “estimated JAMB scores” and readiness figures are guides to help you practise. They don’t predict or guarantee your UTME result or admission.
• For official information about registration, the syllabus and the exam, always check JAMB’s own channels.

3. Your account

• Sign in with your own phone number or Google account. One account per person, and don’t share it.
• Keep your sign-in codes private. We will never ask you for a code.
• Your username is public. It mustn’t pretend to be someone else, or be offensive, hateful or misleading. We may change or remove a username that breaks this rule.
• You choose four JAMB subjects (English plus three). Changing them later costs a small fee, shown in the app before you pay.

4. Free trials

Everyone can try JambCBT without paying: a limited number of CBT mocks, recorded challenges and study sessions, as shown in the app. After those, you can keep playing challenges, but your results aren’t recorded without a pass. The number of free trials may change over time.

5. Passes and payments

A pass gives you full access: every past question with worked solutions, unlimited CBT mocks and recorded challenges.

• Types of pass: Monthly (30 days), UTME (until the end date shown, around the exam) and Annual (365 days). The price and exact end date are shown before you pay.
• One-off, no auto-renewal: each pass is a single payment. It simply ends on its end date; we never charge you again automatically. Buying a Monthly or Annual pass while one is active adds its days to the end of your current pass; a UTME pass runs to its end date (or your current end date, if that’s later).
• Prices are in Nigerian naira and include any charges we pass on. We may change prices for future purchases; a pass you’ve already bought keeps its end date.
• Payments are processed by Paystack, under Paystack’s own terms. Your pass starts as soon as Paystack confirms the payment. Bank transfers can take a few minutes.
• “Ask a parent to pay”: you can send a link so a parent, guardian or anyone else can pay for your pass. The person paying agrees to these terms for that payment, and the pass goes to your account. Links stop working after seven days.

6. Refunds

A pass starts giving you access immediately, so we don’t usually refund it once it has started. We will refund you, or put it right, if:

• you were charged but didn’t get your pass;
• you were charged twice for the same thing; or
• JambCBT had a serious problem that stopped you using your pass, and we couldn’t fix it.

Email hello@jambcbt.app within 14 days with your username and the payment reference or receipt. Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under Nigerian consumer protection law.

7. Fair play and acceptable use

Leaderboards and challenges are only fun if they’re fair. You agree not to:

• use more than one account to get extra free trials or climb leaderboards;
• use bots, scripts or anyone else to answer for you, or tamper with the app, its timers or its results;
• copy, download in bulk, scrape, share or sell JambCBT’s questions, solutions or other content;
• try to get into accounts, data or systems that aren’t yours, or disrupt JambCBT for others;
• use JambCBT for anything unlawful.

If someone breaks these rules, we may remove their points or results, reset their place on leaderboards, or suspend or close their account. Where we can, we’ll tell them why first.

8. Our content

Past exam questions belong to their original owners. JambCBT’s worked solutions, explanations, design, software and brand belong to us or the people we license them from. We give you a personal, non-transferable right to use them in JambCBT for your own study. Nothing else is transferred to you.

Challenges you create use questions from JambCBT’s bank; by creating one, you let other students play it.

9. Availability and changes

We aim to keep JambCBT available and working well, but it may sometimes be unavailable for maintenance, updates or reasons outside our control (like internet outages). We improve JambCBT over time and may add, change or remove features. If a change takes away something important you’ve paid for, we’ll make it right.

10. Our responsibility to you

We provide JambCBT with reasonable care and skill. As far as the law allows, we aren’t responsible for exam results, admission decisions, or losses that weren’t reasonably foreseeable. If we’re responsible for a loss, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before it happened. Nothing here limits liability that the law doesn’t allow us to limit.

11. Ending your account

You can stop using JambCBT at any time and ask us to delete your account at hello@jambcbt.app. Time left on a pass isn’t refunded when you delete your account, unless section 6 applies. We may close accounts that seriously or repeatedly break these terms.

12. Law and contact

These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and Nigerian courts deal with any dispute we can’t settle together first. We may update these terms; we’ll change the date at the top and tell you in the app about important changes before they apply to you. Questions: hello@jambcbt.app.
